MediateWise Training
& Competition

MediateWise is an IMI Recognised Mediator Training Programme designed to build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to mediate effectively in real-world settings. The programme offers structured, practical mediator education, helping participants understand the role of a mediator, the key principles of effective dispute resolution and the techniques that support constructive dialogue.

At MediateWise, we are committed to quality and consistency. Training is delivered regularly, either in person or online as well as in conjunction with the annual MediateWise competition.

 

This year, the competition is in its 9th year, providing an additional and engaging way for participants to apply their developing mediation skills and to experience the process in a supportive learning environment. Whether you take the training remotely or alongside the competition, the experience is structured to guide you from fundamental concepts through to active participation in mediation practice.

Successful completion of the training is assessed through an evaluation process, including passing the assessment. This ensures that participants have demonstrated the required competency and understanding to move forward responsibly as trainee mediators. Following completion and assessment, and subject to being IMI accredited, participants are eligible to progress further within the MediateWise community.

Participants will also be able to join the competition as a judge. This enables them to continue honing their skills, deepen their understanding of the mediator’s role and gain valuable insight into how effective mediation is assessed and applied.

Importantly, MediateWise does not end at course completion. Once individuals have completed the programme, passed the assessment, and achieved IMI accreditation, they can apply to join Mediation Chambers as an Associate Member. Mediation Chambers also provides programmes to help develop participants’ practice in mediation, tailored to their requirements and the stage they have reached.
